Seven members of the Melfort Triathlon Club competed in the 2009 Bike Doctor Moe's Triathlon in Saskatoon on Sunday morning. Karen Hadwen, Andrea Preddy, and Ron Ferguson completed the Sprint Category consisting of a 500 m swim, 10 km bike and 5 km run. Jocelyn Ferguson, Mike Hadwen, Katie Bittman and Lyle Bittman completed a 300 m swim, 6 km bike, and 2.5 km run in the Super Sprint Category.
For Karen, Andrea, Mike, Jocelyn, and Katie it was their first ever triathlon and judging from all the smiles after the race this may have been the first of many. I know Katie's hooked, as shortly after crossing the finish line, she looked at me and said, "That was awesome! When's the next one?"
